The Next Decade of US Space Astronomy
There's usually a flurry of popular news reports on the newest space mission about a week before they actually go up and do their thing in space. Of course, these missions have been planned and built for years (occasionally decades) before they make it anywhere near space.
Julianne at Cosmic Variance gives a little view into some potential missions in the next ten years based on a decadal astronomy survey. Projects in the survey range from old ideas that have been reworked multiple times before reaching their current form and newer projects that have never been possible before. Head on over and check them out.
