Possible Muon Collider at Fermilab

Fermilab held a workshop last week to discuss the possibility of building a new Muon collider at Fermilab's current location in Batavia, Illinois. The workshop was a step in trying to discover what new science a muon collider could potentially be used to look for and what it might look like. A preliminary idea for the colliders design can be seen here.

The Muon collider is looked at as a "next step" after the LHC and is still in contention with other ideas for the future of experimental particle physics, so we'll have to wait and see what physics thinks will be best. It would be such a great boost to US physics to have the next major collider at Fermilab though!
