Guessing the Amount of M&Ms in a Jar
Adam Micolich, physics lecturer at the University of New South Wales, has a great selection of demo videos for various physics topics at his youtube channel. One of his not-so-recent videos was all about the process for sharking "guess the number of x in this jar" games. His example is based on a 1l lab jar and M&Ms candies but he explains how you can extend the math to any amount of objects in any volume if you know how to describe the items inside and a property of the items called the packing fraction. Go forth and shark!
