Fine Structure

I don't know what half of the stuff on this page means (I'm trying to go through it and learn some interesting laser terminology) but I don't think it takes much to realize that growing your own crystals so that you can turn your Nd:YAG laser green is AWESOME.

Additionally, there's mention of a lasers and high energy physics mailing list that I'm going to lurk on for a while. I'm always interested in people doing impressive backyard things with physics.
