This is just too good to pass up: researchers at Georgia Tech have started making nanogenerators, tiny piezoelectric devices that generate electricity from small movements, and their first test subject was the very animal that already powers most of the west coast*, the hamster. Presumably these nanowatts will soon become a regular occurrence on our persons as our devices require less and less electrons.

*I'm sorry, did someone forget to tell you about the huge hamster-based power plants we have out here? That's too bad.
