First Electrons at the LCLS

Sure, everyone's waiting for the LHC to turn back on but you can find some great news without traveling all the way to CERN (and it's practically in my backyard!). The Linac Coherent Light Source fired it's first electrons through it's full length on Saturday afternoon, much to the delight of everyone involved, I'm sure. Work on the LCLS is scheduled through the spring so there's plenty more work to be done!
