Details on the LHC Damages

Some members of CERN have finally been able to visit the location along the LHC ring where liquid helium escaped it's enclosure during the first rounds of testing last month. Apparently there was some "extreme overpressure," something forible enough to "tear the magnet stands out of where they were bolted to the concrete floor."

After all the overprotection about how the LHC is safe, I like how they're very closely avoiding the word "explosion" in favor of "extreme overpressure." Never challenge a physicist to a technical understatement fight.
